Satellite Shelter

Homeless individuals sleeping out in Pittsburgh or other urban environments often face dangerous conditions in the winter months. Our team developed an initial concept in five days in response to Carnegie Mellon University's College of Engineering challenge of how to help these individuals. This concept for a collapsible, temporary shelter led to an in-depth design project that is now on its way to becoming a reality.

Getting through the airport with kids can be a real challenge - but what if it was an adventure instead? Leveraging micro-mapping technology, our team re-imagined the airport experience to make it fun and interactive and to create incentives for behaviors that make life easier for both airlines and parents. Anza Cart

For farmers in Tanzania and many other countries, large portions of the day are spent collecting water, especially during the dry season. The typical method for transporting water is head carrying, which has a detrimental health impact. In Tanzanian cities and towns, carts are everywhere, but in the rural areas, we noticed they were not. City carts did not hold up on rough roads and were too expensive.
The challenge was to produce an affordable, durable cart that could be repaired with commonly available materials.
